A global team with a common bond

Our team is truly one born out of the COVID-19 crisis -- with a team that met as recently as the end of March at the Pandemic Response Hackathon by Co-founders Randall Baran-Chong - Canada (Health Strategy & Team Lead), Kate O'Brien - Ireland (Technical Lead), Chris White - USA (R&D Lead).

Thanks to MyBubble's selection as one of five Featured Spotlight Projects out of 230+ projects at the hackathon, the team leveraged the momentum, navigating product pivots, new business models, and the addition of new team members -- earning further success including the Winner of EUvsVirus "Protecting Employees" category.

To continue with the project and get experienced guidance in bringing the product to market, MyBubble applied to and was selected by the Creative Destruction Lab, a global accelerator to its newly-formed Recovery cohort -- created specially for COVID-19. 

We're an unlikely group including health strategists, developers, Bluetooth engineers, privacy experts, and entrepreneurs spanning an 8-hour timezone difference; but our common denominator is our passion to make a difference in the COVID-19 fight with MyBubble!

We have a vision where we can take the current COVID-19 paradigm of MyBubble, which is based upon rules, keeping distance from others, and focusing on avoiding transmission, and flip it to focus on better living, based upon health and wellness challenges, socializing it with people and places nearby, and focusing on improving your overall wellbeing.

We recognize the COVID-19 situation as an opportunity to participate in one of the largest-scale and drastic behavioural experiments in human history -- and we are eager to take our lessons, user reach, and core technology to move from disease containment to supporting a healthier, happier society.
